Recurrent miscarriages in a couple with t(4,8) and inv (9)

چکیده
Nearly 60% of all first trimester spontaneous miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities. The most frequent are numerical abnormalities (94%), followed by structural abnormalities(5%) and less frequently mosaicsm(1%). We report a 28 years-old couple in which an 4,8 translocation and 9 inversion has been identified during the investigation for recurrent miscarriages. They were phenotypically normal female and male. She had suffered four miscarriages in 7 years but no cytogenetic analyses had been performed in these abortuses. In karyotyping by standard G-banding techniques of peripheral blood cultures showed 46,XY,t(4,8) and 46,XX,inv (9). The translocation was also confirmed by FISH studies. We conclude that cytogenetic analysis should be an integral part of etiological exploration in couples with recurrent

Subfertile couple with inv(2),inv(9) and 16qh+.
This case report presents two chromosomal inversions in one of partners from a subfertile couple. The woman was referred due to a spontaneous abortion in the 5th week of pregnancy. Cytogenetic examination showed that the proband's karyotype was normal: 46,XX,16qh+, as centromeric heterochromatin is thought to be clinically insignificant. However, the proband's partner occurred to be a carrier o...
متن کاملPericentric inversion of chromosome 1 and 9 in a case with recurrent miscarriage in Egypt
We report phenotypically normal female carrying structural variants on both chromosomes 1 and 9. She was referred to the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinic, National Research Centre, with a complaint of repeated miscarriage (5 consecutive first trimester miscarriages). Conventional cytogenetic study of the peripheral blood of the wife revealed 46, XX inv (1) (p32 q44) in all cells and inversion (9...

متن کاملA Rare Case of Pericentric Inversion, Inv (21) (p12;q22) in Repeated Pregnancy Loss: A Case Report.
Pericentric inversions are among the most frequent chromosomal rearrangements with a frequency of 1-2%. There is no phenotypic effect in the majority of pericentric inversion heterozygote carriers, when it is a balanced rearrangement. However, miscarriages, infertility and/or chromosomally unbalanced offspring can be observed in carriers of a pericentric inversion. This is a case of pericentric...
متن کاملP-200: Frequency of Heterochromatin Polymorphisms in Couples with Recurrent Abortions in Patients Refer to IVF Clinic of Yazd
Background: Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a multifactorial problem associated with genetic abnormalities reflected by inherited disorders. The aim of the present study was to investigate the contribution of heterochromatin polymorphism in couples with recurrent miscarriages compared with couples without miscarriages. Materials and Methods: Over a 3 year period, we made a study of the diagno...
